Hair Ties
Things you will need:
- Fabric
- scissors
- needle and thread
- Sewing machine (optional)
- hot glue gun (optional)
- Buttons
- hair tie or head band or a plain clip
This project is great for when you have bits of fabric you don’t want to throw away. You can either make five or six, 2 inch squares or 4 inch squares. I usually make all my flowers with six petals because I like it to be even. I find 4 inch squares are better when making head bands and 2 inch squares are better for hair ties. But you can make as many petals as you want. You can find a tutorial here and I made one here.(coming soon)
I find sewing the ends of the petals easier with the machine. It keeps them in the fold and it makes it easier to handle them. Also I experimented with the hot glue gun and since I’m horrible at sewing by hand this option made my flowers more flower like. >.<
